Web Development and Engineering Support for Armenia’s Largest Universal Bank
Ameriabank needed more engineering capacity to keep its customer-facing web ecosystems fast and reliable, and a smarter way to spot suspicious transactions. Acquaint Softtech’s developers joined its product squads to refine service portals, optimize data delivery and stabilize APIs, while a specialized group upgraded transaction monitoring. The result was a more responsive platform during high-activity periods and faster, more meaningful compliance investigations.

PARALLEL ENGINEERING WORKSTREAMSCLIENT STORY
Ameriabank is the largest universal bank in Armenia, offering corporate, investment, and retail banking services. The bank describes itself as a financial and technology company, with assets exceeding AMD 1 trillion. As part of its digital transformation, Ameriabank was the first in Armenia to create ecosystems for both businesses and individuals, giving one-window access to banking and non-banking services through platforms such as myhome.am, mycar.am and mybusiness.am.
Keeping these platforms fast and reliable during peak financial activity, while continuing to ship enhancements, called for more engineering capacity. Ameriabank also wanted to move its transaction monitoring beyond static rules. It partnered with Acquaint Softtech for web development and IT staff augmentation, with developers embedded directly inside its internal teams.

Project Background
Ameriabank’s digital ecosystems serve customers every day, so any improvement had to land inside a live system without slowing delivery. Acquaint Softtech stepped in to add engineering depth across the web platform and to help build a more adaptive approach to transaction risk.
Embedded Engineering Capacity: Additional engineers inside internal teams to keep up with ongoing web platform enhancements without slowing delivery cycles.
Platform Performance and Reliability: Stronger performance for customer-facing web ecosystems, especially during peak usage tied to financial activity.
Adaptive Transaction Monitoring: Moving away from static rules toward a system that identifies suspicious behavior patterns.
"Their ability to balance performance, security, and usability without overcomplicating the system was notable."
Research & Ideation
Acquaint Softtech integrated directly into Ameriabank’s engineering structure instead of working as a separate external vendor. Every addition had to fit into a live system customers were already using daily, so the approach focused on strengthening what existed without disrupting it.
Embedded From Day One
Developers joined ongoing product squads and contributed to real production environments from the start.
Two Parallel Workstreams
Web ecosystem improvements ran alongside a smaller specialized group focused on transaction monitoring.
Built for a Live System
Each change was planned to integrate into running services without disrupting customers.
Creative Design
For customers, design meant clearer paths through Ameriabank’s service portals. The team refined user flows and optimized how data was fetched and displayed across the digital ecosystem. For compliance teams, design meant context: internal dashboards present flagged transactions with the behavioral detail analysts need to understand why an alert was raised.
Project Challenges
Engineering Capacity Under Pressure
Internal teams needed more hands to keep up with ongoing web platform enhancements. Without them, delivery cycles risked slowing down.
Performance During Peak Activity
Customer-facing platforms had to stay fast and reliable during high-activity periods, especially where multiple services interacted at once.
Inconsistent Transaction Updates
Delayed transaction updates and inconsistencies across platforms were a source of customer complaints for support teams.
Rigid Rule-Based Alerts
Static rules produced repetitive alerts. Analysts often had to piece together the story behind a flagged transaction manually.
Our Solutions
Acquaint Softtech worked as part of Ameriabank’s own teams, improving the web ecosystem and transaction monitoring in parallel while keeping live services stable.
Embedded Squad Developers
Developers joined Ameriabank’s product squads and worked in production environments alongside in-house engineers.
Refined Service Portal Flows
User flows across service portals were refined so customers could move through the digital ecosystem more easily.
Optimized Data Fetching and Display
The team optimized how data was fetched and displayed, improving responsiveness across the platforms.
API Stabilization Across Services
APIs connecting multiple backend services were stabilized and enhanced for secure, efficient communication.
Adaptive Transaction Monitoring
A specialized group upgraded transaction monitoring from static rules to an approach based on user behavior patterns.
Custom Functionalities
The transaction monitoring workstream introduced features that add depth to risk detection without making the system harder to manage.
Behavior-Based Transaction Scoring
A scoring system that analyzes user activity patterns rather than relying only on predefined rules.
Transaction Stream Data Pipelines
Pipelines that process transaction streams and extract meaningful signals for risk evaluation.
Compliance Review Dashboards
Internal dashboards where compliance teams review flagged transactions with more context.
Secure Inter-Service Communication
Enhanced API layers that keep communication between services secure and efficient.
On Going Support
Throughout the engagement, Acquaint Softtech’s developers worked like Ameriabank’s in-house engineers, adapting to the bank’s processes rather than asking the bank to adapt to them.
Full Sprint Participation
The team joined sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and review sessions alongside internal engineers.
Visible Progress
Tasks were tracked inside Ameriabank’s own systems, so progress was always visible.
Adapting to Shifting Priorities
When fintech priorities changed, the team adjusted quickly and focused on what was needed next.
Project Outcome
The improvements were noticeable to both technical teams and operational staff. System responsiveness improved during high-activity periods, and internal monitoring showed fewer performance bottlenecks where multiple services interacted. Customer support teams also reported fewer complaints about delayed transaction updates or inconsistencies across platforms.
On the risk side, compliance teams moved from repetitive, rule-triggered alerts to alerts with behavioral context. Investigations became faster and more meaningful, as analysts could quickly see why a transaction was flagged instead of piecing the story together by hand.
