Event Management and Community Engagement Website for CBSRZ
We helped Rebecca Mead and the INQ Creative team build a flexible WordPress website for Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek (CBSRZ), with a strong focus on event management, community engagement, and registration workflows. The platform was designed to handle a wide range of event scenarios, including multi-day events, recurring programs, varied schedules, and registration-based activities, while giving visitors an easy way to discover, register for, and save events to their own calendars.

Client Overview
Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek is a welcoming, Reform Jewish community based in Chester, Connecticut, and affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). Living up to its name, House of Peace, Pursuers of Justice, CBSRZ offers prayer, learning, and community gatherings for members of every age. Its home is a landmark building recognized in the art world for Sol LeWitt's involvement in its design, and its calendar is rich with Shabbat services, holiday celebrations, adult and youth education, book clubs, art exhibitions, choir, and support groups.
Rebecca Mead and the INQ Creative team partnered with Acquaint Softtech to develop a flexible WordPress solution that could support this diverse range of programs while keeping event management simple for the internal team. The result was a scalable digital platform that lets the CBSRZ team manage complex events efficiently while providing visitors with a smooth way to find, register for, and save activities, and stay connected through member and community features.

Project Background
CBSRZ needed a website that could support its wide variety of programs and events while keeping event management straightforward for the internal team. The organization runs many different types of activities, including community gatherings, educational programs, religious services, cultural events, workshops, and special events.
Because these activities carry different schedules, registration requirements, and event structures, a standard event setup was not enough. Our goal was to build a flexible WordPress solution that could accommodate multiple event scenarios while providing a consistent and intuitive experience for website visitors.
Administrators: The CBSRZ team can create, update, and organize events from a flexible WordPress backend built around their real programs.
Members & Visitors: Community members can browse upcoming activities, register for events, and save them to their preferred calendars.
Event Structure: A flexible setup supports single-day, multi-day, recurring, and registration-based events without extra manual work for the team.
Aquaint Softtech stepped in, got up to speed fast, picked up right where things had fallen apart.

Research & Ideation
Understanding the Event Structure
The first step was to understand how CBSRZ organizes its different events and programs. We analyzed requirements around event dates, schedules, categories, registration needs, recurring activities, and multi-day events. This helped us define an event structure flexible enough to support different scenarios without adding unnecessary complexity for administrators.
Flexible Event Setup
We shaped an event structure that supports single-day, multi-day, and recurring programs so the team can run varied activities without custom work each time.
Registration Workflows
We planned registration for events that need sign-ups, including capturing the total number attending and the names of all guests for each activity.
Calendar Saving
We planned calendar functionality so visitors can save events to Google, Apple, Outlook, or iCal directly from the event page.
Creative Design
Turning the Figma Design Into a Functional WordPress Experience
The website was developed based on the approved Figma designs provided by the creative team. Our focus was to translate the visual design accurately into a responsive WordPress website while maintaining usability across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Design Accuracy
We translated the approved Figma designs into WordPress with close attention to layout, spacing, and visual detail.
Clear Event Presentation
Event dates, times, descriptions, categories, and registration options were laid out so important details are easy to find.
Consistent Branding
We kept the frontend experience aligned with the CBSRZ brand and overall visual direction across every page.
Project Challenges
Managing Multiple Event Scenarios
Events have different dates, schedules, formats, and registration needs. A rigid structure would have meant extra manual work, so we built a flexible approach that lets administrators manage every scenario from the WordPress backend.
Supporting Multi-Day Events
Some events contain multiple dates or sessions rather than a single start and end date. We customized the event structure to handle this while keeping the frontend presentation clear for visitors.
Handling Registration and Attendee Details
Several programs required visitors to register more than one guest. We built the registration experience to capture the total number attending along with the names of all attendees.
Our Solutions
A flexible backend that lets the CBSRZ team create, update, and organize events efficiently while supporting the requirements identified during discovery.
Frontend Event Experience
An intuitive frontend where visitors can browse upcoming activities and access key details such as dates, times, descriptions, and registration options.
Responsive Implementation
Built with responsive behavior in mind, so event information and registration remain accessible across screen sizes and devices.
Calendar-Friendly Experience
Visitors can add events to their preferred calendar platform, making it easier to remember and attend upcoming activities.
Community Engagement Features
A member portal entry point, newsletter sign-up, donation access, and member story and featured event modules keep members informed and involved.
Custom Functionalities
A large part of the value delivered by Acquaint Softtech came from custom functionality built specifically around the way CBSRZ runs its programs.
Flexible Multi-Day Event Management
Rather than limiting administrators to a basic single-date structure, we implemented a flexible approach that accommodates different event configurations across multiple days.
Multiple Event Scenarios
The custom event functionality was designed around the real-world needs of CBSRZ, letting the team manage different types of events with a consistent presentation.
Multi-Attendee Registration
For programs that require sign-ups, registration captures the total number attending and the names of each guest, giving administrators complete attendee information.
Role-Based Dashboards
Tailored views for leadership, showroom teams, and operations staff, balancing executive oversight with task-focused daily workflows.
Structured Event Information
Information is managed consistently across categories such as Shabbat services, adult learning, book clubs, art gallery events, choir, and support groups.
On Going Support
Acquaint Softtech's involvement continues beyond the initial build. We provide ongoing support to help CBSRZ maintain and improve the website as its event and community needs evolve.
Event Management Support
We assist with event-related functionality and help make sure new event scenarios can be managed effectively.
Website Improvements
As requirements change, we continue to improve the WordPress website and its functionality.
Technical Support
We provide ongoing technical assistance for website functionality, integrations, and calendar features to keep the platform reliable and up to date.
Project Outcome
The project delivered a flexible WordPress website that gives CBSRZ a stronger foundation for managing its growing range of community activities and events. The custom event structure makes it possible to handle different event scenarios, including multi-day programs and registration-based activities with multi-attendee sign-ups, without compromising the visitor experience.
The integration of MachForm, the Circle member portal, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and iCal further improved the event and community experience by giving visitors convenient options to register for, save, and stay connected with events. Most importantly, the solution delivered by Acquaint Softtech gives the CBSRZ team greater flexibility and control over event management, while providing members with an accessible and engaging way to discover events, register for activities, and stay connected with the community.
