Laravel commerce, built for stores that need real control.
Bagisto stores, custom Laravel commerce, multi-vendor marketplaces, and headless storefronts. Built for mid-market brands, B2B sellers, and marketplaces where standard SaaS commerce hits its ceiling and you need a platform that bends to your business, not the other way around.
- Official Bagisto Partner, direct line to the Bagisto core team
- Bagisto, custom Laravel, multi-vendor, and headless commerce, all under one team
- Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, and local gateways with 3D Secure and Stripe Tax
- Catalogs scaling to 50,000 plus SKUs with sub second product page loads
Commerce, where you actually own the platform.
Laravel eCommerce, in plain terms.
Laravel eCommerce means building or extending an online store using the Laravel PHP framework, either through the official Bagisto platform (Laravel based, open source) or as a fully custom Laravel commerce build. Unlike Shopify or BigCommerce, you own the code, the data, and the infrastructure. There are no platform fees, no transaction fees, no app marketplace tax, and no limits on what the storefront or checkout can do.
We have shipped Bagisto stores, custom Laravel commerce, multi-vendor marketplaces, and headless storefronts for clients across the US, UK, Australia, and India since 2007. Acquaint Softtech is an Official Bagisto Partner, which means we work directly with the Bagisto core team on production stores and complex customisations that off-the-shelf platforms cannot handle.
Signals you have outgrown SaaS commerce.
Some products belong on Shopify or BigCommerce and stay there forever. Others hit a wall in year two when the platform stops bending. If three or more of these apply, you need Laravel commerce, not another SaaS plan upgrade.
You have custom pricing rules that SaaS plugins cannot model (volume tiers, contract pricing, B2B price lists per customer). You sell 50,000 plus SKUs with complex attribute systems and product configurators. You operate a multi-vendor marketplace with vendor onboarding, commission, and payouts. You need deep ERP, WMS, or PIM integration through native APIs, not Zapier. You handle B2B checkout flows with quotes, approval chains, and net payment terms. You want full control over the storefront with custom Core Web Vitals targets. You are paying $5,000 plus per month in SaaS fees and the platform still cannot do what you need.
Four ways we build Laravel commerce.
The right approach depends on catalog size, business logic complexity, vendor model, and how much control you want over the storefront. We build all four under one team, and we will recommend the one that fits, not the most expensive one.

Multi-vendor marketplace on Bagisto, 200 plus vendors, 15K orders monthly
"Acquaint Softtech built our marketplace on Bagisto in five months. We launched with 40 vendors. We are now at 220 and have not had to rewrite the architecture once. The vendor onboarding flow they designed is still what new vendors use today."
A growing lifestyle brand wanted to expand from selling its own products into a curated marketplace, inviting selected third party vendors to sell through the same storefront. The platform needed vendor onboarding with KYC, vendor specific catalogs, automated commission calculation, Stripe Connect payouts, multi-vendor order splitting, and a vendor dashboard for inventory and order management. Existing SaaS marketplace platforms could not handle the brand's custom commission structure or the way it wanted to position vendor brands in the storefront.
We built the marketplace on Bagisto with its multi-vendor extension, then extended it with a custom commission engine, Stripe Connect onboarding for vendor KYC and payouts, and a tenant-style vendor dashboard built with Livewire 3 for live order updates. Multi-vendor order splitting routed each item to the right vendor, and the customer support team got a unified order view across vendors. Performance work brought catalog pages to sub 800ms TTFB and product detail pages to sub 1.2s LCP. Horizon backed queues handled vendor notifications, payout calculations, and weekly analytics digests.
Three ways to engage on a commerce build.
Pick the model that fits your stage and budget. Most commerce clients start with Fixed Price for the build, then switch to Dedicated Developer for ongoing feature work and seasonal scaling.
Dedicated Developer
- Full time, exclusive to your store
- 176 hours per month per engineer
- 5 day developer replacement clause
- Direct Slack and email access
Fixed Price Build
- Discovery, design, build, QA, launch
- Project lead, developers, QA included
- Two week sprint demos throughout
- Post launch handover with docs
Time & Material
- Hourly billing, weekly invoices
- Scale team up or down on demand
- Effective rate from $18 per hour long term
- Full transparency on hours worked

Is Laravel good for ecommerce development?
Yes, Laravel is one of the best frameworks for ecommerce when you want full control over the storefront, checkout, and back office. The official Bagisto eCommerce platform is built on Laravel, the ecosystem covers payments through Cashier and direct gateway integration, and the framework's flexibility makes custom rules around pricing, inventory, taxes, and fulfilment straightforward. We have shipped Bagisto stores, custom Laravel commerce platforms, multi-vendor marketplaces, and headless storefronts for clients across the US, UK, Australia, and India.
-
Laravel ecommerce vs Shopify, which should I pick?
Pick Shopify when you want a fast, low-maintenance store with standard checkout, standard fulfilment, and limited custom business logic. The trade-off is platform fees, less control over data, and limits on what the storefront can do. Pick Laravel (often through Bagisto) when you need custom pricing rules, complex catalogs, multi-vendor or B2B workflows, deep ERP integration, or full ownership of the codebase and data. The honest answer is that most small DTC stores belong on Shopify, and most mid-market or B2B commerce belongs on Laravel.

What is Bagisto?
Bagisto is an open source eCommerce platform built on Laravel and Vue.js. It ships with the standard storefront, checkout, product catalog, inventory, multi-channel, multi-currency, multi-language, payment integrations, and a clean admin out of the box, with a package architecture that makes customisation faster than building from scratch. Acquaint Softtech is an Official Bagisto Partner, which means we work directly with the Bagisto core team on production stores and complex customisations. Bagisto is free, MIT licensed, and runs over 10,000 stores worldwide.

How much does it cost to build ecommerce with Laravel?
A focused Bagisto store with theme customisation, payment integration, and admin setup typically costs $8,000 to $18,000 and ships in 5 to 9 weeks. A custom Laravel store with bespoke pricing rules, ERP integration, and a polished frontend lands between $25,000 and $80,000 over 3 to 5 months. A full multi-vendor marketplace with vendor onboarding, payouts, and a custom storefront runs $50,000 to $180,000 over 5 to 9 months. Dedicated Laravel commerce engineers start at $22 per hour or $3,200 per month full time. A full breakdown sits on our Laravel development cost page.
-
How does Laravel integrate with Stripe?
We integrate Stripe with Laravel two ways. For subscription commerce (memberships, recurring boxes, SaaS-style billing) we use Laravel Cashier, the official package that wraps Stripe's subscription API. For one-time checkout (standard eCommerce) we use Stripe's PHP SDK directly with Stripe Elements or Stripe Checkout on the frontend. Both options ship with full PCI compliance handled by Stripe (no card data touches your servers), webhook signature verification, 3D Secure support, and Stripe Tax for global VAT and sales tax handling. More on our Laravel integration services page.
-
Can you build a multi-vendor marketplace with Laravel?
Yes. Multi-vendor marketplaces are one of our specialist eCommerce engagements. We build them on Bagisto using its multi-vendor extension, or fully custom on Laravel when the workflows justify it. A typical build includes vendor onboarding and KYC, vendor-specific product catalogs, commission and payout logic through Stripe Connect, vendor dashboards, customer support for multi-vendor orders, and dispute resolution flows. We have shipped marketplaces serving 200 plus active vendors and processing thousands of orders monthly on a single Laravel architecture.
-
What is headless commerce with Laravel?
Headless commerce separates the storefront (frontend) from the eCommerce engine (backend). Laravel runs as the backend, exposing product, cart, checkout, and order APIs. The frontend is built separately as a Next.js, Nuxt.js, Astro, or native mobile app, consuming those APIs. Headless gives you full control over the storefront experience, better Core Web Vitals scores, easier omnichannel (one backend serving web, mobile, and in-store), and lets your frontend team move independently of the commerce team. We build headless on Laravel APIs with Sanctum auth, OpenAPI documentation, and Redis caching.
-
How is Laravel ecommerce performance?
Laravel commerce performance is excellent when built well. Standard optimisations are Redis caching for catalog and category data, full page caching for anonymous traffic, Horizon backed queues for emails and exports, CDN at the edge for product images, and read replicas for analytics queries. We benchmark every store at sub 800ms time to first byte on the catalog pages and sub 1.5s largest contentful paint on the product detail pages. For Black Friday level traffic we add Laravel Octane and horizontal scaling, which has held up at 50,000 plus concurrent users in our own load tests.
-
Can you migrate our existing Magento or WooCommerce store?
Yes. Migrating from Magento, WooCommerce, Shopify, or PrestaShop into Bagisto or custom Laravel is a regular engagement. We preserve product catalog, customer accounts, order history, SEO URLs (with 301 redirects), and reviews. The cutover runs on a mirror environment with shadow testing before going live. More on our migration services page.
-
Will we own the store source code and IP?
Yes, completely. Source code ownership and IP transfer terms are agreed in writing before kick off, the NDA is signed before any project discussions, and the repository is yours from commit one. There are no surprise licence fees later, no usage limits, and no white labelled dependencies that lock you in. Bagisto is MIT licensed and free, so there are no platform fees either.
What commerce teams usually pair with this.
Commerce stores rarely live alone. Most clients combine the core build with one or more of these.
